Can I show you an awesome drawing I did when I was younger? Probably in Grade 1 or 2 I think..

I think this might have been done at chinese school for my drawing class. Apparently I got 96? Yay! Also for those who can't read characters, the top of the page says 'bird'. This got me thinking back- I used to love drawing animals. I also had a big fascination with horses. I remember drawing the same horse with the same pose all the time. =.="
I entered my drawing of a horse in a school competition, which I remember thinking at the time, wow my drawing is awesome, I'm definitely going to win this. But, no, I obviously didn't win it, and I lost to this kid called Oliver, who basically threw paint on a canvas. Honestly, I think it was kind of unfair, when really, not much thought is necessary to throw paint on a canvas, and just because some pros do it, it does not mean that any kid who does it is the same. I'm probably being biased because I lost, but do you remember that story how some critic was judging a piece of art which was done by a 3 yr old who threw paint on a canvas?

I got into drawing people in Yr 3 or 4 when we were given booklets on how to draw some cartoon expressions. I think I still have it around somewhere... And then when I moved schools, there was this girl called Antra (who I know who goes to my uni :O) who used to draw these cute pictures which I was amazed by, because I used to draw those half stick figure things with those weird smiles that were found on everybody's tin pencil case. I'm pretty sure I was kind of jealous of her, because she started halfway in, and she beated me in things that I were good at =.=" eg. when we had to copy out paragraphs of text to improve our cursive handwriting, I think she would beat me in speed as well as good handwriting. *gloom*

It was only in Yr 7 when I started to get into drawing anime/manga characters. Biggest influence would have to be Fruits Basket, my first manga ever. I think after that, I was compelled to watching all of the sailor moon episodes. And then I might have watched Cardcaptor Sakura which led to Tsubasa... Or if that wasn't first, it was then Ouran High School Host Club. Me and Marnie were in the school labs after school, and I found out about it on gaiaonline which made me curious. When we first started it, we were like wth? because the opening was so poppy and upbeat. But then it really gets to you XD
Naruto would have started around somewhere along this timeline... I saw it everywhere, and I happened to watch it in English on Toasted TV which made me look it up (in jap of course XD).
I think D.n Angel was probably in Yr 8, because I thought it looked pretty, with cool looking characters like Dark :P Yes that's usually how I judge a good anime. As well as the flow of deviantart artwork that keeps popping up. Seriously, I've learnt a lot of character names of animes I don't even know. It's probably only around yr 10 when I started to get into series more seriously. Watched Death note, loveless, fullmetal alchemist, code geass probably around then?
It's kinda depressing to think about it, but I've probably watched more than 30 animes in my life, and quite a few of them have more than 100 episodes... so if I were ever to calculate the time watching anime + time re watching animes... sheeshh... Probably wasted more than half a year...But I still don't think I'll stop anytime soon. Anime really isn't that different from normal tv shows, just because it's animation, it's deemed as kids' shows. And possibly the fact that a lot of animes have some sort of magical/fantasy/unrealistic thing going on. But I think if you were to ever make real live action shows for some of them (hehe tawainese dramas FTW!), they'd definitely be a hit \\(^.^)//

-3- So tired. Today I went out with Janet to visit Dev at Melb uni as well as browse around the city in general. Before heading there though we ended up doing a bit of dress shopping XD Bought a few dresses, although some might look a tad long, but should still look alright. I don't mind seeing as each dress was pretty much under 10 bucks. Haha. Awesome places to shop Janet. :P Except I probably won't ever find my way back again due to my horrible sense of direction.
So we ended up spotting the Go Club at melb uni, which surprisingly had a lot of people around it. Granted, all of them were asian, but still. Surprising. I would join, but the idea of making an effort to get to the meetings or whatever put me off. Usually a lot of club activities start after 6pm, and the effort of travelling there and back just doesn't seem worth it in my opinion. Yes I'm lazy. But it was still amusing to know that Melbourne uni has a go club. Haha I also spotted this plant/environment club where if you join, you are in the running to win a plant! XD Woot! Instead of a strawberry plant, they should have made it a cactus. Lol.

Omnomnomnom. Can't wait till I start uni. But then again..eh I just hope I won't be bombarded by homework too soon. They should at least give us a chance to set a pace before diving straight in.

New Template

I felt like a new template so I changed it. I think it's a lot better in terms of the whole positioning of sidebar, considering last template, everything looked like a mess. Well this template is a lot lighter to the ones I usually use, which are darkish (so when I'm in the dark, I'm not blinded by the brightness of the colours).
I would love to design a template, except my expertise in html/css/js is horrible. I'd WYSIWYG it but that kind of insults people who design as a job.

Kingdom Hearts

I really want KH merchandise. Specifically, the jewellery. It's so PRETTEH!!! If you didn't already know, I'm a big fan of KH. I'd like to think I'm somewhat dedicated, seeing as I have made the effort to buy all the games available in Australia- which is saying something. Usually, as I'm sure you know, I tend to use some other..eh hem.. not so legal methods to play some games. Well, that only sings true for ds games because of how easy it is to get them, BUT either way, KH is a series that I'm willing to collect. There'd be more if I had the money, but more often than not I find myself relatively poor. T.T
So I have really, only two more kh games I have to finish- BBS, which I'm just trying to max out stuff, and have to play the final episode; re:coded, which I have yet to start, but am excited to start because it's the old gang again XD
I would love to buy chain of memories ps2 version, and also the final mixes, but unfortunately, they will never make it to australia :'( Chain of memories has already been translated, I don't see why they couldn't make it available in other regions too!! *insert big sad face*

Harry Potter

I just finished reading the last book from the series again, after buying the whole series the second week back from china. I love harry potter- main reason is that it's an easy read and you can really get into it, which I seem to have trouble doing for books in general nowadays. One reason why I'm re-reading some series from high school. I really do miss that period when I would be by myself, nose buried in a book.
I bought quite a few books in china, although I wish I could have bought more :/ I'll take a pic of it all when I get near the end of talking about my trip.
Honestly speaking though, I think I re-read books just to try to get the same feelings in my younger years of high school. I feel like most of the time I'm drifting, without a goal in mind. I know what I need to do, but it's getting harder to focus on doing the things I'm supposed to do. I've been meaning to practice my drawing skills, work with photoshop, but I'm just not feeling the same excitement and need to draw anymore. I haven't drawn properly since last year in first semester when I had drawing classes. I'm kinda scared of what's going to happen, because if I do aim to become some sort of animator or whatever, I won't have the same motivation, the same feelings I did once upon a time. You'd think being on such a long hiatus from drawing would help but...I don't know. I think I need a drawing buddy or something. Someone who I can draw with sometimes, share ideas or whatever. I just don't feel motivated enough to do things by myself anymore :(

Part 3 China Trip

So the following Friday, one of my cousins came back from school. He's currently 13/4 I think? Was really quiet at the start, seeing as we haven't seen each other in such a long time. I remember him being really annoying last time, but this time, I guess you could say he's grown up. The next day, my other two cousins came back from school- one's the same age as Bec, so that's 12? And the other one is two years younger than me, so she's 17. I heard a lot about the oldest cousin, because they kept mentioning that I looked a lot like her -.- We really don't look that much alike.
Do we look alike at all? You probably can't see anyway..

So after they came back, we proceeded to crash a b'day party for my youngest cousin's friend. We went to karaoke again, and were forced to sing again (in front of the adults..*sigh*) I can't say this enough, but my youngest cousin is sooo cute >_____<

The next day we went to a hot spring, which really wasn't a hot spring, just a fake. Either way, it was still nice. We went with some of their family friends, and also some of the kids from yesterday's party. There were lots of kinds of springs, flavoured ones, different temp etc. Some of the flavoured ones were coffee, rose, milk and wine. I would have enjoyed it better if there weren't so many old perverted looking men who tend to stare, but the overall experience of being in a hot spring was pretty good. After finishing up at the hot springs, we went to a sauna next. First thing we saw was a naked old lady in there o.O Apparently it's very common for people to do that in the rural areas, so you can actually see a lot of naked women changing or whatever. Anyway, thank god she left as we just arrived. *phew* It would have been awkward to find a place to stare at haha. It was suffocating in the sauna at first, but once you get used to it, it kinda feels good.
We saw a lot of naked old people through the glass of the sauna though, as they exit the showers. Honestly, why bother with the shower curtains if you're going to leave naked? I felt sorry for the lil kiddies who had to see all that X'D Ohh also, funny story. Apparently when my sister was showering, some lady barged in because she forgot her bracelet >__<" Lucy said she was huddled right behind the curtain trying to cover LOL X'D Honestly, how rude can people get.

At this point, I'll just mention a few things that I might have missed. My sister has been told that she looks like a foreigner (probs the make-up), and I've been told that I look like my cousin by EVERYONE T.T Not that there's nothing wrong with looking like her, but come on! I'm older than her! She looks like me dammit!
Kinda grossed out by the horrible hygiene around china. During the first few days in guangzhou, I saw some dude puke out the window for a few good metres DD: Honestly, I have that bloody image carved into my brain and can't get it out D:
Looking through family photos, there's one of me when I was in creche. It was my birthday. I was kissing a boy O.O So freaking embarrassing. I'd never seen that photo in my life, didn't eve know such a thing occurred. My aunty was saying how passionate a kiss it was. O.O Damn, that totally does not count as a first kiss. Ahh what do they let happen in creches??

Erm. Back to the trip. By Tuesday, my cousins had already left to go back to boarding school, so I wouldn't be able to see them till the weekend. Unfortunately at this point, it was when I started developing a cough which turned into a cold the next day. I blame my sister for that because Lucy was already sick at that point.
My uncle was getting on my sister and I's nerves, being the joker that he is, he loves to imitate what we say in english, say things that aren't true and be annoying just in general. So for pretty much the whole week, we stayed at home and started cross stitching. In case you didn't know, I got into the whole cross stitching thing in China :D A have half a box full of cross stitching that I wanna do. I'll put up some pics later to show the few that I've done. Just saying, just because it's small, it doesn't mean that it was any easier. There are a lot more squares, and the holes are a lot smaller, so I personally think that they are much harder than the big ones. Just saying:P My sister and I have challenged ourselves by buying a 2.5 x 1m cross stitching of an autumn scene. Most likely take more than a year at this rate, but when I'm done, or have any progress, I'll show you. :)

Well that's it for now, the rest of my china trip entries will be a lot more compact I think, as I will be skipping quite a few days. Ta ta for now!

Valentine's Day

Yesterday I was tagged in a note on FB and I thought it was really sweet ^^
=======================================================
Hm, so valentine's day has come up again ~ Last year, i made this note. People seemed to appreciate it, so this year, i've decided to do the same. Things are different this year, so different people have been tagged. I hope this is successful once again.....here's how it works:

1. Below is a description of my true feelings towards 12 girls, who I have tagged. I won't go as far as saying that you're my Valentines, but I have chosen you this year because I care about all of you and I wanted to write something for each of you.

2. I will not reveal which paragraph belongs to who unless you ask, and I will message you privately if you wish to know. You can try to figure it out if you will, but you might have to go through a few of them. Some may be obvious though ^^"

3. Hm, that's basically it. Happy Valentines! =]

The First Rose

Meeting you last year, at the time that I did, was really a twist of fate. I’ve said it before, but I see a lot of myself in you for some reason. I want to get to know you more and hopefully we get to spend more time together as well. You’re a very beautiful girl, and a very casual, easy-going friend to have. I don’t how you see me, but I really care a lot about you already, and I really hope that you can come to learn to understand me. Something about you makes me really comfortable, so I hope you give me the chance to open up to you, and in return, I hope I can be someone you look up to and someone who can help you out ^^

The Second Rose

You’re one of the girls who I always hoped I would become closer to. Even though you were a lot more active with other stuff in your life, I always looked forward to seeing you around, because seeing how responsible and grown up you are makes me happy. But you also have a very young side to yourself as well! You are a very beautiful girl and one day you will achieve your dreams, I’m sure! I hope I don’t lose you anytime soon because I want to show you how much I care about you. Thank you for being around and keep being a beautiful and fun girl!!

The Third Rose
I know I’m not great at expressing myself to you, but let me begin by telling you what I love about you. Since I met you, I’ve wanted to be a closer friend for you. I think you’re extremely cute and loveable, which has affected me in some ways, but I think now we’re starting to get along better. Hopefully, if you help me out, I’ll get to know you lots more over this year. You’re a very beautiful, easy-going and caring person who seems to really like listening to people, but I would also love to hear a lot more from you! Please don’t be too shy, and if you need someone to talk to, I’m more than happy to hear you out whenever you need me :)

The Fourth Rose
I’ve always considered you a very interesting friend. You’re sweet and friendly, but at the same time, you’re very mature and decisive. I think they are great qualities for you to have. I don’t know what sort of life you’re looking for, but I hope that one day you find it. You’re still young and have a bit to learn I think, but with the company you surround yourself with, I’m sure you will be able to adapt ~ take care of yourself, and I really hope that you stay an active friend in my life, because I would really like to be a helping hand for you in whatever way I can be!

The Fifth Rose
Even though I’ve known you for a while now; it still feels like you’re always a new character for me to learn about. I look forward to seeing you, because you’re always playful and fun, but can be serious when you need to be. You are very beautiful, and I love the passion you have for your hobbies! When I first met you, I realised how kind you actually are. You’re very easy to talk to and I would really like to spend more time with you around! Keep smiling and being gorgeous!! *pinches cheeks*

The Sixth Rose
I hardly know you, but I can tell you’re a caring and fun-loving person. I don’t know if there’s any chance of me getting to know you more, but I hope that if we do get to meet up, you’ll find something in me that makes me a friend worth having! I wish I could experience more of how life on your side is. Maybe one day I will! I’m really glad to have bumped into someone so energetic and passionate as you are. You’re a very cute and friendly girl, so I hope one day we can be closer friends!

The Seventh Rose
When I first met you, I knew there was something different about you that really made me adore you. After learning a lot about you over the last few months, I’ve come to understand the amount of respect we share for each other, and it makes me really comfortable to know that you’re a friend I can treat exactly as I wish. You deserve to be happy and enjoy life exactly how you wish. You’re easy-going and lovely. I think if our circumstances weren’t as they were, I would definitely be interested in seeing you as more than a friend, but even then, I don’t think you’d be so willing, so it’s probably for the best that things are this way…

The Eighth Rose
You wanted to be included last year, so I broke the rules a bit and here you are! When I first met you, I described you as graceful, elegant and kind. Meeting you was definitely something that affected my life a lot. You have the natural ability to take care of people, so it’s easy to tell you things. I do admit I would like to talk to you more than I do already, but I’m afraid that you already have a lot of people to take care of. You’re very professional about the way you act, which is why I sometimes feel like I’m doing things wrong when I get your feedback on things. But I really appreciate everything you tell me, so thank you so very much for putting up with me all these years.

The Ninth Rose
You know how much respect I have for you, and how much I care for you. You’ve been a girl who I’ve cared about for a long time, and I wish I could be a bigger part of your life. I often worry about how your life is going. We’re two different people, but still closely connected. To be honest, I usually wished that I could be your boyfriend, but then I realised what different lifestyles we lived. I’m sure that you know how much I care for you, and I hope that this year I can continue to keep in contact with you. I’ll always be here for you.

The Tenth Rose
My socially awkward self made me a little bit concerned at how to come forward to you as a friend. I’m starting to learn how to treat you and I can tell you respect me as a friend, which makes me really happy ^^ You’ll have to excuse me for being a little laid back at the moment. I don’t have too much of a role in your life, but I know that the people you hang out with will take care of you, so just keep being true to yourself and the world will open up its doors for you!

The Eleventh Rose
I never expected to meet someone like you last year! Even though I may not see you that often, I think you’re an extremely fun and confident person, and I have a lot of respect for you. When I first met you, you easily welcomed me in. I really like the way you act with people and the sort of friend you are. I wish I could be closer to you so that I would understand you more and find some way to return the favour for being so awesome. I really hope that I get to know you more this year!

The Twelfth Rose
At the beginning of last year, I think I was in a mildly comfortable spot with you. After what we’ve both experienced over this year, I like to think that we have gotten closer, and that makes me really happy! I’ll do my best to try being a good friend for you, and I’ll be here when you need me. You already know how much I care for you, so you know how to act with me! But I really wish you would share more of your burdens…if you need anyone to rant to, I don’t mind at all. I miss talking to you and keeping up with your life, so every now and again, stop working so hard and come hang out with me, or let me know you’re free!!

-----------------
You probably can't guess which one I am, I couldn't really tell either ^^" But for those who are curious, I'm the first one :) I guess the reason why we get along well is because we're both gamers XD
Anyway, yesterday janet came over, and we both played Go. XD Lol half the time I was thinking, what would my parents think if they saw us playing a game that usually old people play? XD I won the first game (definitely beginner's luck) and proceeded to lose the other games *sigh* So I definitely need to brush up on my 'skills' if I ever want to be like Hikaru and aim for the 'hand of god'. I will beat you Akira!!!

Weird Dreams again

So I updated my China photos on Facebook not too long ago to have captions to go with it... feel free to look at them if you want. I'll go more in depth on my trip on my blog later, but I probably won't cover everything.

Back on to the main topic, I wanted to write up my dream again. This was from two days ago though, but it's still kinda there in the back of my mind.

The first dream I had takes place at my house, in the swimming pool. For some reason, I happen to release 12 koi fish into the pool. I watch them swim around for a while then I feed them. After some time, I watch as a koi fish gets sucked into the pool cleaner, half way stuck. This part grossed me out because then I dreamt I tried pulling it out of the cleaner D: It's eyes were bulging, and I felt squeamish and disgusted at the feel of it's slippery body. Eventually I somehow managed to pull it out and then I woke up. I'm just saying for the record- I wouldn't do anything like that unless the pool had no use. Seriously.

I also had another dream but it's slightly grander and hard to explain. Takes place on a big cruise ship ( I think it was under the influence of the Prince of Tennis movie I just watched), where parts of familiar everyday life places coexisted on this one ship. There was the ivanhoe library- except it had so many levels to it, and you could purchase the books. Then there was this part that reminded me of the bridge above myers in the city. The whole dream was weird. I don't remember what I was doing though, just remembering all the places.

Also, last night I had another dream. It was quite the thriller if you ask me. It was sort of a family action packed dream XD My family and I had just left some building when some guys in suits yelled out. We all looked at each other and started running. The overall feel of the place had a chinatown feel to it, some I'm guessing the triads were after us? XD We ran into some shops looking for some disguises, and then we split up. I think I could actually feel my heart racing throughout the whole dream, and I could kinda sense that it was early in the morning. Eventually I had to wake up to take my sis to school, so I don't know what happened after that.

Yeah my dream recollections is a bit fuzzy and incomplete, but at least somewhat exciting to experience XD Wish I could share dreams haha

Day 2

Just want to get this out there before I start recapping some more on my trip. Why do I feel like everyone is trying to piss me off? I feel like having a go at everyone who talks to me at the moment. There are times when I just want to throw it back at them, but that definitely won't do any good..
(going by my mobile diary ^^")
So. Day two. I woke up around 7-8am to end up drinking lots of tea. Lots and lots of tea. I guess you could say it's customary for them to drink tea in china any hours of the day, so I got to learn how to prepare "gong fu cha" or "kungfu cha".

We took the subway to some park and swapped over to another subway. I personally like their travel cards, it's a lot more convenient than the metro. It's further along anyway.
We went to a "museum" apparently, although I think what I meant in my diary was just some historic place...hmm not sure. Here's the place I was probably talking about:

Anyway, all the ornamental decorations you could see around the place was pretty amazing. Those kind of things are probably really hard to reproduce in this day and age huh?

Afterward, we went to this central shopping area, which was a place we would be frequenting a bit. It has a lot of shops there, which is no joke- there are shops within the smallest places that it's ridiculous.

Apparently he was famous for appearing at the Asian Olympics or something.. not too sure
We also went down a street that sold food around there, so it was like a small market. I was really looking forward to it, because street food always looked so nice, especially how they show them on those food expert shows on tv. Problem is, the hygiene around there D: You can see a lot of people who litter, spit- even shooting snot out of their nose DD: Also at one stand was this man, grinding some sesame into a paste, with his bare feet holding the mortar D:

Some food found on this street

After checking around, we headed towards our final destination, a karaoke joint. It was humongous, there were different levels for the whole joint! I guess that's something else that's different to Australia; due to high population and having to live in such a small area, they need to find other sorts of entertainment. Karaoke is highly popular among all social classes and ages, so you can see all sorts of people there. It was roughly 15-20 bucks per person, so around 2-3 dollars here?
So we made our way to our own little room, which was quite pretty although kinda dark. Also did I mention that this included an all you can eat banquet? XD First thing we did was go towards the food area, and grabbed some plates for some food. Granted, the food wasn't that great, but it was quite pretty to look at.

The karaoke room

Some of the desserts. I thought it was actual cake, but really, it's more of a chinese bread with icing

My sister and I ended up singing quite a lot of songs (English, although I would have liked to try some of those chinese classics that everyone knows) which was quite tiring. I think we had a few hours singing? All I can say is that I hope I don't have to hear my uncle sing for a long time T.T So loud.

Random joke

An asian guy steps on some guy's foot by accident.
asian: " I'm sorry!"
guy: " I'm sorry too!"
asian: " I'm sorry three!"
guy: "What are you sorry for?"
asian: "I'm sorry five!"

*may have posted this one before, but due to poor memory, I can't remember
